The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received an official invitation from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to participate in a new international initiative aimed at strengthening security in the Middle East region. Uzbekistan has been offered to become a founding member of the "Council of Peace," as reported by Podrobno.uz.

The initiative is based on a Comprehensive Plan for the cessation of conflict in Gaza, which was presented in September 2025. This project has already received international recognition and was enshrined in UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803, adopted on November 17, 2025.

The structure being created aims to unite countries willing to take responsibility for maintaining long-term stability and peaceful development in the region. The Council is intended to become a key platform for monitoring the fulfillment of commitments and mobilizing resources necessary for the recovery of affected territories.

In his response letter, Mirziyoyev confirmed Uzbekistan's readiness to become a co-founder of this organization. He noted that Tashkent views this initiative as an important step towards ending long-standing conflicts and establishing lasting peace in the Middle East.
