It has become known that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has become one of the first world leaders to receive this official invitation. Ruslan Zheldibay emphasized that it would be wrong to hide the fact of such an initiative. In response to the invitation, Tokayev expressed gratitude to Trump and agreed to participate in this new organization. The President of Kazakhstan noted that the country is ready to contribute to establishing sustainable peace in the Middle East and strengthening international trust and stability. Trump announced the creation of the Peace Council in the Gaza Strip on January 16, 2026, which became part of his peace plan that also includes the deployment of international forces in the region.

On the same day, the White House announced the composition of the executive committee of the new council, which includes seven people, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff, the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

According to information from Bloomberg, the Trump administration requires countries wishing to hold a permanent seat on the Council to invest at least $1 billion. The draft charter states that Trump will be the first chairman of the Council and will be able to decide who can become a member. Additionally, he will have the right to approve or reject decisions made by a majority vote within the organization.
