Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced the decision to join the new "Council for Peace," led by Donald Trump, which will address issues related to Gaza. The country is striving for peace in the Middle East, recognizing that the current situation in the region affects the security of all of Europe. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto emphasized that the country highly values the "peacekeeping efforts" of the American president and places hopes on him for resolving conflicts in the Gaza Strip. In addition to Hungary, invitations were also sent to representatives from Italy, who are counting on a significant role for their state.

The establishment of the "Council for Peace" is seen as an opportunity to replace existing UN structures, which, according to Donald Trump, are ineffective. The first test for this council will be to resolve the conflict in Gaza, although U.S. authorities propose to expand its powers to also cover crises in Ukraine and Venezuela.

In response to these initiatives, the U.S. administration announced the formation of the Gaza Management Committee (NCAG). However, to join the "Council for Peace," a contribution of $1 billion is required. Donald Trump, in his role as chairman of the council, will have the right to both exclude participants and accept new ones, block decisions, and create additional structures.
