The U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan has made a statement for those planning to apply for B1/B2 visa category applications. It is important to remember that the visa bond payment should only be made after the interview.

Consular staff will provide payment instructions after the interview, and only if the applicant meets all requirements. It should be noted that money paid before the interview is non-refundable.

After the interview is completed, successful applicants will receive a link to pay the bond through Pay.gov, and this must be done within 30 days. Under the new pilot program, a single-entry visa valid for up to three months will be issued, and entry into the U.S. will only be possible through certain points.
After returning from the trip, the bond will be automatically canceled, and the funds will be refunded, provided that visa requirements are met, such as no illegal work and timely departure.

It is worth reminding that previously, the administration of President Donald Trump included Kyrgyzstan in the list of countries whose citizens may be required to pay a visa bond when applying for B1/B2 visas. This new requirement will take effect on January 21, 2026, under the Visa Bond program. The bond amount ranges from $5,000 to $15,000 and is determined individually based on the interview results.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan also added that paying the bond does not guarantee visa issuance, and failure to comply with the conditions may result in loss of funds. The agency urged citizens to familiarize themselves with the new requirements and strictly follow the U.S. visa and immigration regulations.
