As a result of the traffic accident, the deputy mufti of the Talas region, Rysbek Kokumov, tragically passed away.

According to information provided by the Talas region muftiate, Rysbek Kokumov, who took the position of deputy mufti of Muslims in this region on November 1, 2024, died in the intensive care unit after an accident that occurred today.

Turmush reports that around 10:00 on the Tashkent—Talas—Suusamyr highway (in the Ak-Kalpak area, between Talas and the village of Ken-Aral in the Bakai-Ata district), a traffic accident took place.

Preliminary information indicates that the driver of a "Chevrolet Cobalt," traveling west, lost control of the vehicle while overtaking on a slippery road, leading to a collision with a "Mercedes-Benz Sprinter" minibus.

As a result of the incident, two passengers (one from each vehicle) sustained serious injuries and were urgently hospitalized in the intensive care unit. There is information that the "Chevrolet Cobalt" is a service vehicle.

The traffic safety organization department of the Talas region police confirmed the details of the incident. The service vehicle belongs to the regional muftiate.

Rysbek Kokumov was born on January 31, 1980, in the Bakai-Ata district of the Talas region.

Education:

- 2014–2017 - Islamic University of Kyrgyzstan;

- 2019 - completed training at the training center of LLC "Erkin OPK";

- also studied in the 3rd year at Talas State University.

Career:

- 2010–2019 - Imam-Khatib of the village of Kyrgyzstan in the Bakai-Ata district;

- 2021–2023 - Chief Imam-Khatib of Talas city;

- 2023–2024 - Specialist in mosques and madrasahs at the Talas region muftiate;

- since November 1, 2024 - Deputy Mufti of the Talas region.

Rysbek Kokumov is survived by his wife and three daughters.
