It was previously reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) that suspects in extortion had been detained. According to the investigation, one of the residents of Bishkek accused her acquaintance of rape. As a result, she and the district police officer from the GOM-4 of the October District Department of Internal Affairs began joint actions to extort money for a favorable resolution of the case. On January 17, they were caught red-handed while receiving 350,000 soms.
The Department of Internal Affairs confirmed that the police officer who was detained has not served in the internal affairs bodies since February 2025 and is under supervision.
