In several cities across the United States, large-scale protests were held against the actions of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In Los Angeles, on January 30, a rally took place with the slogan "ICE - out," where participants called for federal immigration agents to leave residential areas, as reported by ABC7.

Protest organizers urged citizens to participate in a nationwide strike, which involved refusing to work, study, and shop. In response to the protests, the police declared a citywide tactical alert, and all officers were required to remain on duty. Later, law enforcement began dispersing the demonstrators, using tear gas.

According to CBS, citing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, an incident occurred on January 7 in Minneapolis where an ICE officer shot a 37-year-old woman, sparking mass protests in the city. Fox News also reported another case involving gunfire, resulting in one death.

The protests in Minneapolis gathered nearly 100,000 participants, and on January 12, protesters also gathered at Trump Tower in New York City.

As reported by The New York Times on January 30, ICE expanded the authority of its officers, allowing them to make arrests without a prior warrant. Previously, such actions were only permissible in cases where the agent believed the suspect might flee from justice.
