President Emomali Rahmon congratulated the military personnel on the 33rd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan.
In his address to the people, the head of state noted that the Armed Forces represent an important stronghold of Tajik statehood and serve as a reliable protection of the country's independence and freedom, as reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
He also noted that the soldiers of the army and law enforcement officers perform their duties with dignity, ensuring the protection of state borders, public order, and the safety of citizens.
Rahmon mentioned that during the difficult times of the civil war in the early 1990s, the government realized the necessity of creating a capable Armed Forces.
Despite economic difficulties, the National Army was established, and on February 23, 1993, the first military parade took place.
According to the president, the Armed Forces of Tajikistan were formed under challenging conditions, gaining combat experience and enhancing professionalism. In the following years, the army, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, repeatedly demonstrated loyalty to the oath and showed courage in ensuring the safety of the people and the state.
Emomali Rahmon thanked all military personnel and law enforcement officers for their dedication to the cause.
He also noted that the people and the state will never forget the feats of the soldiers and officers who gave their lives to protect the constitutional order and maintain peace.
Furthermore, the president emphasized the complex international situation, the rise of terrorist threats, and other forms of transnational crime.
In this regard, he stressed the need to continue strengthening the country's defense capability, improving personnel training, mastering new technologies, and enhancing the skills of military personnel.
In conclusion of his address, the president expressed confidence that the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan will continue to honorably fulfill their sacred mission, ensuring the security of the state and the tranquility of the people, and wished all military personnel and veterans health, prosperity, and resilience of spirit.
