During an investigation conducted by elDiario.es and Univision Noticias, two former employees of Julio Iglesias made serious allegations of sexual harassment and violence. They shared their experiences while working in his homes in the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic, as reported by Forbes.ru.
Two women who previously worked for Iglesias openly accused him of sexual harassment. In their comments to elDiario.es and Univision Noticias, they shared details about what happened during the investigation.
Laura and Rebecca (names changed) described their experiences working in the singer's residences, where they were subjected to verbal abuse, humiliation, and sexual violence.
Laura claims that in 2021, Iglesias repeatedly kissed her and touched her breasts without consent, causing her pain. Rebecca added that at the age of 77, the singer often summoned her to his room after work for sexual acts without asking for her consent. "I felt like an object, like a slave," she said.
The investigation conducted by elDiario.es and Univision Noticias took three years. As a result, a complaint was filed with the National Court of Spain by lawyers from the organization Women’s Link Worldwide.
Laura stated, "I hope that our court appeal will serve as a signal for all victims of Julio Iglesias so that they can also speak out and believe in the possibility of justice. This was not only happening to us; he has been doing this for many years."
