Participants included Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Zhyldyz Taalaibek kyzy, deputies Gulsharkan Kultaeva, Gulnara Akimbaeva, Nilufer Alimjanova, Zhyldyz Egenberdieva, and Deputy Chair of the Council Erkeaiym Seitkazieva.
According to the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh, the discussion focused on issues of cooperation in the protection of women's and children's rights, as well as strengthening gender equality. There was also talk about collaboration with international partners to implement initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the population.
“We highly value our partnership with WHO. The expert support and international experience of the organization are key resources for enhancing health policy and ensuring gender equality,” noted Zhyldyz Taalaibek kyzy.
She also spoke about the work of the Council for the Protection of Women's and Children's Rights and Gender Equality, which operates under the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh.
“The Council functions as a permanent advisory body that assists in the development and implementation of state policy aimed at protecting the rights and legitimate interests of women and children, as well as eradicating all forms of discrimination and violence based on gender, and achieving gender equality in all areas of life,” she added.
Speaking about plans for 2026-2027, the Deputy Speaker emphasized that the Council will focus not only on issues of protection from discrimination but also on key aspects of strengthening the health of the nation.
Erkeaiym Seitkazieva, Deputy Chair of the Council, outlined priority areas for cooperation between the Jogorku Kenesh and WHO.
Livio Vedrasco expressed readiness for further partnership and joint development of initiatives.
