People often associate symptoms such as weakness, drowsiness, and dizziness with fatigue or stress. However, the cause of these symptoms may be low hemoglobin levels, known as anemia. This information was announced by representatives of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF).
MHIF emphasizes the importance of timely diagnosis, which can prevent serious health problems.
All citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic have the right to access a basic package of medical services, even if they do not have insured status. This package includes 12 types of services, among which is a complete blood count to determine hemoglobin levels.
To undergo the examination for free, several conditions must be met:
- be registered at a Family Medicine Center (FMC) or a General Practice Center (GPC);
- consult your family doctor;
- obtain a referral for laboratory testing.
MHIF also emphasizes that having a mandatory health insurance policy (MHIP) significantly increases access to medical services. Insured citizens can take advantage of:
- more than 40 additional types of laboratory tests (biochemistry, hormonal tests, etc.);
- discounted medications with up to 50% off;
- instrumental studies (ultrasound, X-ray, etc.);
- other services under the State Guarantees Program.
