More than 36,000 residents of the Jalal-Abad region have been vaccinated against hepatitis B

Since the beginning of 2023, 188,740 doses of the hepatitis B vaccine have been administered in the region, as reported by the regional coordinator of the Ministry of Health, Ömürbek Mahmadjunus uulu.

Vaccination is currently being carried out using the "Bevac" preparation. According to the coordinator, a large-scale immunization campaign has been launched in the country aimed at combating the spread of hepatitis B. The main focus is on citizens aged 25 to 65, especially those who belong to at-risk groups.

At-risk groups include healthcare workers, individuals who have had contact with hepatitis B patients, beauty salon employees (including hairdressers and manicure specialists), people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as citizens with chronic diseases, disabled individuals, prisoners, and military personnel.

According to Mahmadjunus uulu, in the Jalal-Abad region, 447,939 people are eligible for vaccination, of which 36,928 have been vaccinated to date. "There are about 30,000 doses of the vaccine available in medical institutions in the region, and an additional 10,000 doses have been delivered to the warehouse of the regional Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance. Doctors continue to conduct informational activities and vaccinate the population," he added.

In addition, there are 5,721 individuals under medical supervision in the region suffering from hepatitis B, C, and delta forms.
