Political scientist Emil Djuraev shared his thoughts on the recent resignation and the possible consequences for the alliance of the two leading figures in power on his Facebook page.
According to Djuraev, Tashiev's resignation was predictable and had been brewing for a long time. The upcoming elections and issues related to the contentious voting deadlines for the Constitution accelerated this process. "Despite the strong friendship between these two politicians, such alliances at high levels of power have their expiration date. Usually, it is short-lived. A tandem lasting more than five years is a rare example of durable cooperation," he wrote.
The political scientist also noted that the further development of events remains uncertain, and there is a risk of deteriorating personal relations between the former partners.
He expressed regret that "friendship may change," adding that this is just part of political reality, and there is no tragedy in it. "It is important for both sides to responsibly and constructively navigate this stage, considering all the risks," Djuraev emphasized.
In his opinion, the cooperation of the two leaders became the foundation for significant systemic achievements in recent years.
"The most important systemic results were achieved during their joint governance. The shortcomings are also largely related to this form of power and its nature," he added.
Djuraev called for restraint in criticism and retrospective assessments at this time.
He noted that "there were many mistakes, but discussing this now may prove unconstructive." The most dangerous, he said, is opening the door to external forces seeking to exploit the situation for their own interests. "The need to address emerging issues within the country remains relevant," he concluded.
In conclusion, the political scientist pointed out that the changes from the resignation will also affect the deputies.
He noted: "It will now be more difficult to be a deputy — holding an ambiguous position will no longer be possible," Djuraev summarized.
