She noted that according to current legislation, credit bureaus must store:
- positive information about loans - for 7 years from the date of full repayment;
- negative information - for 5 years;
- data on loans from pawnshops - for 1 year.
Furthermore, a new rule will be established: the storage period for information provided by a liquidated credit institution will be reduced from 5 to 2 years from the date of the last data update.
The adoption of this draft law could:
- improve conditions for approximately 200,000 borrowers on the black list;
- ensure broader access to credit for individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises;
- stimulate the growth of small and medium businesses;
- reduce the level of shadow lending and the number of microloans outside the official financial system.
As a result of the discussion, the parliament approved the draft in the first reading.
