A round table with the participation of owners of public catering establishments was organized by the State Antimonopoly Service.
According to the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, cafe and restaurant owners have agreed to reduce prices by 10% on dishes that customers order for takeout.
During the round table held at the agency, representatives of government bodies and entrepreneurs discussed the implementation of the law prohibiting service charges.
Previously, public catering establishments included a separate line in the menu for a 10-15% service charge. After the new law was adopted, these costs disappeared from the bills; however, customers suspect that establishments simply included them in the price of the dishes. A government service inspection confirmed that prices for dishes have significantly increased in recent months.
In response to these remarks, entrepreneurs promised to optimize prices and introduce discounts of 10% on orders and takeout of ready-made dishes.
