A two-day business forum B5+1 was held in Bishkek, gathering representatives from business and government structures from Central Asian countries and the USA. As part of the event, a press conference took place, featuring the U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gorra, and heads of delegations from the region.
The Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Sadykov, emphasized during his conversation with journalists that the B5+1 format symbolizes a new stage in regional cooperation, where business becomes a crucial catalyst for economic changes.
“Today, business is not just a participant in processes but a full-fledged co-author of reforms in the economy. The B5+1 format provides entrepreneurs in Central Asia with a unique opportunity to directly submit their proposals to governments and international partners,” the minister noted.
Sadykov highlighted three main significances of the B5+1 forum for Kyrgyzstan.
Strengthening cooperation in the region.

The economies of Central Asia are becoming increasingly interconnected. Issues of logistics, trade, energy, and digital technologies require coordinated actions and strategies. The B5+1 format helps translate regional dialogue into practical terms through specific business initiatives.
Improving the business climate.
Recommendations from the business community emphasize reducing administrative barriers, developing financial instruments for small and medium-sized enterprises, expanding access to markets, and digitizing government services. These initiatives fully align with the current reforms being implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Developing international partnerships.

The active involvement of the USA and the engagement of regional businesses strengthen investor confidence, opening new horizons for trade, investment, and technology transfer.
“The main message of the forum is quite clear: Central Asia is becoming a region of cooperation, reforms, and new opportunities for international business,” concluded Bakyt Sadykov.
