A record growth of vineyard areas has been recorded in Kyrgyzstan

The agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated impressive growth in the development of viticulture. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, by the end of 2025, the total area of vineyards reached 2870 hectares, which is 225 hectares (or 8.5%) more than the previous year. The increase in area has positively affected production volumes: the gross harvest reached 5990.1 tons, and the average yield was 20.5 quintals per hectare.

To improve the quality of viticulture, the government has focused on the import of certified seedlings. In the first half of 2025, seedlings from Serbia, which underwent strict quarantine control, arrived in the country. It is important to note that the emphasis was placed on virus-free and technical varieties that can yield stable harvests in local climatic conditions. Additionally, the center for the development of viticulture is moving to the Batken region. In the Leilek district, particularly in the rural area of Jany-Jer, cooperatives are already engaged in the cultivation of modern varieties "Avatar" and "Kishmish." There are also plans to open a new nursery specializing in the production of seedlings of "Avatar," "Monikur Singer," and other types of kishmish.

The digitization of the industry has become an important step in supporting grape growers, thanks to the launch of a unified Agroportal. This platform allows farmers to eliminate paper bureaucracy and receive government services online. Currently, the portal enables quick resolution of issues related to tariff quotas, registration of breeding farms, biological plant protection, and agrochemical soil research. The creation of such a digital space facilitates quick access for market participants to relevant information and the implementation of modern technologies in their farms.
