Gold reserves at 'Kumtor' increased by more than 268 tons
The increase in reserves occurred, in particular, due to tailings storage facilities
The mining industry of Kyrgyzstan is showing positive dynamics in 2025. According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, in 2024, gold reserves at the 'Kumtor' deposit increased by 147.4 tons.
Additionally, in 2025, resources from tailings storage facilities were added to the state balance, amounting to 121 tons of gold and 225 tons of silver. This tailings processing project is designed for 17 years and contributes not only to extending the operational life of 'Kumtor' but also to creating new jobs and increasing budget revenues.
Furthermore, the coal industry also demonstrated growth. During the reporting period, more than 30 licenses were issued and over 20 new coal sites were put into operation, aimed at strengthening the country's energy security, especially during the winter period.
