The Ministry of Energy reported on the progress of the construction of the Papan hydroelectric power station.

The construction of the small hydroelectric power station "Papan" with a capacity of 27 MW is ongoing in the Kara-Sui district of the Osh region, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In addition, the process of land allocation and transformation is underway to create a production hub that will include the HPP building and a 110 kV switchgear. Issues regarding land allocation for the installation of supports for the 110 kV overhead power line, which will connect the Papan HPP with the "Uzlovaya - Besh-Moynok" line, are being resolved.

Work on the design and estimate documentation is also ongoing, a preliminary construction plan has been established, access to the Papan reservoir area has been granted, and engineering surveys are continuing, as stated in the press release.

The capsule-laying ceremony for the Papan HPP took place on October 5, 2024.
