According to the expert, this phenomenon is of a global nature. In neighboring countries, due to a shortage of electricity, active campaigns are being conducted to inform citizens about the need for careful resource management and conservation.
The main factors contributing to the increase in electricity consumption include population growth, which in turn leads to increased demand for resources.
“In the past, 10-20 years ago, the situation was different: homes used small refrigerators, there were no air conditioners or a large number of gadgets, so the demand for electricity was significantly lower. Current consumption has increased several times. There is also a rise in the number of enterprises, mini-workshops, factories, and new residential buildings, which further increases electricity consumption,” noted Kundus Kyrbasheva.
The expert emphasized the importance of energy conservation, urging the use of energy-efficient devices and household appliances of class A and above, as well as replacing regular bulbs with energy-saving ones.
“Our parents always taught us to conserve resources. We need to follow this principle and take responsibility for our electricity usage,” concluded the specialist.
It is worth noting that according to government data, the projected electricity consumption in Kyrgyzstan is expected to reach 19.3 billion kilowatt-hours by 2025, which is 900 million kilowatt-hours more compared to 2024.
