The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has given the green light to the draft Agreement concerning electronic trade in goods within the Eurasian Economic Union. This was reported by official sources from the EEC.
The document has been sent to the member states for the completion of internal procedures necessary before signing. The main goal of the Agreement is to establish uniform rules for conducting electronic trade in the internal market of the EAEU.

“This extensive work was aimed at minimizing the risks of various obstacles that could hinder the free movement of goods in the field of electronic trade,” explained EEC Minister of Trade Andrey Slepnev.
According to him, this will lead to the creation of a unified, predictable, and transparent regulation across the entire territory of the Union for businesses. It will also open up opportunities for the use of electronic document flow, reduce administrative barriers, and lower financial costs.
As for consumers, they will be able to expect uniform standards for the protection of their rights, no lower than those in traditional trade, as well as guarantees of information security, personal data protection, and spam limitation.
