Today, April 8, a meeting is taking place in the Jogorku Kenesh, where deputies are reviewing the report of the Attorney General on the state of legality in the Kyrgyz Republic for the year 2025.

Attorney General Maksat Asanaliev presented details about the activities of the prosecutor's office aimed at protecting legality and the rights of citizens, as well as combating corruption.

In his speech, Asanaliev emphasized the importance of upholding the rights and freedoms of citizens, monitoring land legislation, and implementing land amnesty. He also presented statistics on prosecutorial acts and data on damage recovery. The Attorney General reported on measures taken to return illegally privatized social facilities and land plots, the value of which exceeds 4 billion soms. Special attention was given to the fight against corruption, crime, domestic violence, and the restoration of the rights of women and minors.

Maksat Asanaliev also discussed issues of preventing domestic violence and reducing crime among youth. He noted the importance of upholding legality in judicial proceedings and applying probation for convicts, as well as transferring convicts to serve their sentences in the republic.

The format of the meeting involves active interaction, and deputies are asking questions to the Attorney General. During the discussion, Elvira Surabaldiyeva mentioned a case where a businessman appealed to the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) with a complaint that his boarding house was seized by people associated with Kolbaev, but ultimately the facility was returned by the security services.

“The entrepreneur had his property seized again, and it ended up in private hands, rather than being returned to the state. The man is hesitant to file a complaint because he does not know whom to trust,” the deputy commented.

The Attorney General promised to look into this incident, adding that his office received 386 complaints against GKNB employees. He urged citizens to contact law enforcement agencies or the prosecutor's office in similar situations.

Furthermore, in light of recent political events in the country, Maksat Asanaliev reported the detention of nine employees of the State Committee for National Security and the initiation of 18 criminal cases, adding that 386 complaints had been received against GKNB workers.
