The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan adopted the draft law "On Labor Protection" in the first reading

The bill aims to improve the labor protection system at both the enterprise and state levels, which will help increase employers' responsibility for working conditions. The project also establishes the legal framework for monitoring compliance with labor safety norms and standards.

During the discussion, Deputy Suyunbek Omurzakov emphasized the need to align the bill's provisions with the Labor Code. Kamila Talieva, in turn, noted the importance of revising subordinate legislation to ensure its compliance with the Labor Code and suggested holding parliamentary hearings on this issue.

Deputy Karybek uulu Ulukbek clarified questions regarding measures to prevent workplace accidents. Gulsharkan Kultaeva raised the topic of the procedure for recalling employees from annual paid leave, while Toktobubu Ashymbaeva pointed out the mechanisms for monitoring compliance with labor safety norms, adding that she would submit her proposals to the project. Deputy Mederbek Aliyev suggested considering the possibility of reducing working hours for elderly workers and people with chronic illnesses on hot days.

In addition, the Jogorku Kenesh adopted the bill "On the Recognition of Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic as Invalid" in the second reading. The initiator of this bill is also the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and the Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh, Kubanychbek Samakov, presented information about the bill. It is proposed to recognize as invalid the laws on the approval of reports on the execution of republican budgets, on amnesty, and on the interpretation of laws that are no longer relevant.
