According to the case materials, in October 2024, Zhanibek, along with an "unidentified person," organized a poker game in a rented two-story house, where players were admitted based on a pre-prepared list.
“All conditions for conducting the game were created on the first floor: two gaming tables were set up, there were five decks of plastic cards, and over 500 chips. People were also hired to deal cards for monetary compensation,” the court reported.
However, the club's activities were halted by police officers.
- According to the verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court, Zhanibek was found guilty under part 1 of Article 41 and part 1 of Article 219-1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (aiding in the organization of gambling and providing access to it without a license). The court sentenced him to three years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. Later, the man was released from serving his sentence under the condition of probation supervision for one year.
- The judicial panel on criminal cases and administrative offenses of the Bishkek City Court upheld the verdict.
However, the judicial panel of the Supreme Court upheld the verdicts of the Pervomaisky District Court and the Bishkek City Court, and rejected the lawyer's cassation appeal.
