Daiyrbek Orunbekov: Two and a half months is not enough to prepare a driver

The head of the information policy service of the presidential administration expressed his opinion

Daiyrbek Orunbekov, the head of the information policy service of the presidential administration, believes that two and a half months of training is an insufficient period for quality driver preparation. He expressed his viewpoint in response to public criticism regarding the 10-month training period in driving schools.

According to him, such a short period does not allow students to deeply grasp the necessary knowledge. "The 10-month training includes both theoretical and practical classes, but classes will not be held every day, rather two to three times a week for 2-3 hours," Orunbekov noted on his social media. He also emphasized that the program will include the study of psychology and road ethics.

He provided examples from international practice: in Finland, the training period can last up to one year, after which drivers receive temporary licenses. In Germany, training takes from 6 to 12 months, while in Sweden and Norway it can be up to a year. In countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, and New Zealand, training can last up to two years.
