The Minister of Agriculture, Bakyt Torobaev, visited the fields of the "Kyrgyzmamasyltukum" factory, where he explained to farmers how to use carbomint fertilizer and its advantages. This information was provided by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the minister, winter wheat was sown on an area of 50 hectares, treated using modern agrotechnologies. It is expected that this year's yield will be at least 60 quintals due to the use of necessary mineral fertilizers and certified seed material.
"Farmers must first conduct a soil analysis to identify deficiencies in macro and microelements. The most deficient elements are phosphorus, potassium, and nitrogen. Carbomint is used to replenish them. The fertilizer is placed in a hopper and then fed through a dosing mechanism to rotating discs that evenly distribute it across the field," noted Torobaev.
The minister also emphasized that many farmers incorrectly apply pesticides in the fight against weeds. "Weeds growing near the wheat hinder its development and reduce yield. The main mistake is sowing seeds without certificates, which leads to low-quality harvests," he added.
To help address this issue, 22 laboratories are operating across the country where farmers can obtain certified seeds or check the composition and quality of their wheat.
Carbomint is a mineral fertilizer that enriches the soil with essential elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which contributes to increased yields. This fertilizer is actively used to boost the production of crops such as wheat, corn, and potatoes, and is available in granulated form for application using specialized equipment, such as RUM spreaders.
The RUM equipment is a device for the even distribution of mineral fertilizers, which is attached to a tractor via a three-point hitch and operates using a power take-off (PTO). It allows for precise regulation of the rates and width of fertilizer application.
