Border with Tajikistan: resettlement of citizens has been completed in Batken region
All activities related to the resettlement of citizens, planned after the delimitation of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, must be completed by the end of 2025.

According to information from 24.kg, plots have been allocated in the Batken region for the construction of new settlements, allowing residents of border areas to be resettled. As a result, 257 houses have been built.

Batken District

In the Chyet-Bulak area, which belongs to the village of Buzhum, a new village has been established on an area of 57 hectares. Here, 181 residential houses have been built, where residents from the villages of Dostuk, Dobo, as well as Tash-Tumshuk, Kok-Terek, and Mazeititin jeri have moved.

“All conditions for comfortable living have been created in each house: electricity has been supplied, and water supply and sewage systems have been ensured. Additionally, 10 kilometers of roads have been constructed. Currently, a school for 150 students and a kindergarten for 50 children are under construction,” the representative office clarified.

Leilek District

In the Leilek district, on a plot of land in the village of Razzakov covering 11.19 hectares, 60 houses have been built, and in the village of Maksat, on an area of 44.05 hectares, 16 houses have been constructed.

According to the representative office, residents from Nurmatov and Zhanibayev streets in the village of Razzakov, as well as residents from the Sada area and the village of Maksat, have settled in the new settlements. Infrastructure development is underway in the new villages, and the construction of a kindergarten is ongoing.

Due to the loss of additional agricultural buildings and perennial crops, resettlers received compensation from the government. In the Batken district, 139 citizens received 1 million soms each, and 173 people received 500,000 soms each. In the Leilek district, 21 citizens were paid 500,000 soms each, and 63 citizens received 1 million soms each.

For these purposes, 225 million 500 thousand soms have been allocated from the republican budget for the administration of the Batken district and 73 million 500 thousand for the administration of the Leilek district.

Additionally, according to the border agreement, Tajikistan transferred 214 residential houses to Kyrgyzstan in the Sughd region. The inventory of these properties has been completed, and in the future, some of them will be transferred to residents of border villages.

It is also expected that land will be allocated for agricultural needs in two districts of the Batken region — Leilek and Batken. It was previously reported that local farmers are requesting to expedite the process of obtaining agricultural land due to the start of the fieldwork season.

The border agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was signed on February 21, 2025, in Bishkek following negotiations between government delegations. Later, the then-chairman of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, informed the deputies about the agreements reached and the transferred plots.
