As reported by the city administration, these restrictions are being implemented due to the dismantling of a section of the railway on the route Jalal-Abad — Kök-Jaŋgak from the 406th to the 421st kilometer. The work is being carried out by the southern division of the national company "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu".
According to the directive from the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, starting from January 19, traffic will be restricted at the following street crossings in Manas:
J. Bakiev Street;
D. Malashev Street;
B. Botokaraev Street;
Pushkin Street.
The street closures will occur in phases, with traffic being redirected to alternative routes.
The dismantling work is being carried out according to the established schedule and is expected to be completed by February 1, 2026.
It was previously reported that there are plans to construct a four-lane highway on the site of the dismantled railway track.
