The Kyrgyzstan Army Received 81 New Vehicles: Equipment for Defense and Mobility

The transfer of 81 units of automotive equipment for the army took place in Kyrgyzstan, funded by the state budget. The event was attended by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.


The head of the government noted that the renewal of the army's vehicle fleet aims to increase the mobility and readiness of the Armed Forces for action. According to him, a modern military formation should combine traditions and the latest technologies, and the new equipment will facilitate the safe and prompt movement of military personnel.

He also added that the country's defense capability has significantly strengthened over the past few years.

The budget for the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan has increased by more than 300% compared to the period of 2018-2019.

The allocated funds are directed towards the modernization of armaments, the development of military unit infrastructure, as well as the acquisition of modern air defense and electronic warfare systems.

Adylbek Kasymaliev also reported that the first stage of implementing electronic document management in the Ministry of Defense system has been completed. Currently, electronic military accounting is being piloted in five military enlistment offices, and by March, it is planned to launch it in another 25 offices. The digitization of military ID cards has also begun, he noted.

Special attention will also be paid to the social protection of military personnel. In Bishkek, the daily compensation for housing rent has been increased to 500 soms, and in the regions — to 420 soms. Monthly mortgage payments have been introduced, and there is an opportunity to purchase housing regardless of the place of service, as well as more than 900 apartments through the State Mortgage Company.


A total of 81 vehicles were transferred to the Ministry of Defense, including 36 Chevrolet Cobalt, 19 JAC T-6 pickups, 18 Gazelle vehicles, 5 passenger buses, and 3 JAC Sunray minibuses. Part of this equipment was produced at the Tulpar Motors plant in Kyrgyzstan.
