Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that in recent years, the country's defense capability has significantly increased. Compared to 2018-2019, the budget of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic has increased by more than 300%. These funds are primarily directed towards the development of the material and technical base, equipping the army with modern weapons and equipment, as well as improving the infrastructure of military units and garrisons. The latest models of weapons and equipment have been purchased, including air defense systems and electronic warfare systems.
The head of the cabinet added that the Ministry of Defense has successfully completed the first stage of digitalization, resulting in the optimization of document flow and accounting processes for both civilian and military personnel. Currently, the electronic military accounting system is operating in five military commissariats in pilot mode, and by March of this year, it will be implemented in another 25 commissariats. The digitalization of military ID cards has also begun.
The Prime Minister also discussed social support measures for military personnel. Currently, the daily compensation for housing rental in Bishkek is 500 soms, while in the regions it is 420 soms; military personnel also receive a monthly compensation for mortgage housing — 18,000 soms in Bishkek and 15,000 soms in the regions. For military personnel with more than 20 years of service, compensation is provided until the mortgage is fully paid off; regardless of their service region, they can purchase mortgage housing in any chosen location. In the near future, the State Mortgage Company will provide military personnel of the Ministry of Defense with more than 900 apartments in buildings that are in the final stages of construction.
