According to the agency, on January 27, during a morning raid, the mayor, along with heads of relevant services, inspected a 4-story building on Tileke Batyr Street, owned by former vice-mayor and now auditor of the Accounts Chamber, Alimzhan Baigazakov.
The specified object was illegally built on the territory of the old bus station and in the water protection zone of the Ak-Buura River. Despite repeated warnings about the need for demolition, the requirement has not been fulfilled to this day.
In this regard, the mayor of Osh has instructed to demolish this building, as well as nearby structures, including bus station No. 1, which is currently not being used for its intended purpose.
It is noted that earlier, by the mayor's order, the "Kristall" hotel building located next to this construction site was demolished.
Turmush previously reported that as of December 15, 2025, the demolition work of the "Kristall" hotel in the city of Osh is almost 90% complete.
Currently, the main part of the building has been destroyed, and work is ongoing to clear the construction debris.
Judging by the current state, the walls, roof, and internal structures of the hotel have been almost completely dismantled. Heavy machinery is operating on the site, and construction waste is being removed.
- It should be noted that the demolition of the "Kristall" hotel began in October. According to municipal services, the decision to dismantle was made because the object is located within the 50-meter protection zone of the river. Despite earlier warnings, the building's owners continued their activities.
- Earlier, Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev stated at a session of the city council that this hotel would be demolished.
According to current legislative requirements, the water protection zone of channels ranges from 6 to 50 meters on each side. For example, the water protection zone of the Moyun, Zhany-Aryk, and Joo-Bas channels is 6 meters, while that of the Ak-Buura River is 50 meters. The water protection strip of the Uvam canal is 30 meters (on each side).
