At the meeting of the deputies from the "Mekenchil" group, Zhanibek Abirov raised the issue concerning the residents of the Lenin District of Bishkek, who expressed concerns about the possible demolition of their homes on Sheraliyev Street. This is related to plans for the expansion of the street, which covers the section from Akhunbaev Street to Gagarin and includes a connection to Termechikova Street.

Abirov urged the city authorities to provide clarifications so that the deputies could inform citizens about the current situation.

“Local residents are outraged by the possibility of their homes being demolished as part of the General Plan, which is in effect until 2050. There is already a noticeable decline in property prices in this area,” he added.

Deputy Mayor Azamat Kadyrov noted that in previous versions of the general plan, this area was also designated for road infrastructure.

“Previously, discussions of the general plans were held behind closed doors, which did not allow people to be aware of the plans for street expansion. Currently, we are openly conducting discussions on the new general plan, organizing public hearings, and taking into account the opinions of citizens. We are informing both the people and investors about the changes. I do not claim that the expansion work will begin immediately, but this project is already included in the plan,” Kadyrov noted.
