On February 11, a bilateral meeting took place in Berlin between Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, and Johann Wadephul, the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, various aspects of cooperation were discussed, including political, trade-economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Speaking about inter-parliamentary cooperation, Kulubaev shared the results of the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh, noting their compliance with both national and international standards.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan also emphasized the need for joint efforts to expand cooperation with German companies in areas such as hydropower, agriculture, transport and logistics, as well as in tourism infrastructure.
The parties expressed their desire to enhance cooperation in key areas such as the "green" economy, e-commerce, new technologies, mobility, and education, the press service added.
Discussing the issue of sanctions, Kulubaev emphasized that there are no clear grounds for imposing restrictive measures and pointed to the possible negative consequences for the socio-economic development of Central Asia. He noted that Kyrgyzstan is committed to its international obligations and is open to dialogue with European institutions on an equal and mutually beneficial basis.
The ministers exchanged views on international and regional issues, as well as discussed the cooperation between the two countries within international organizations and regional associations such as the UN, OSCE, and EU.
