
President Japarov, welcoming his Tajik counterpart, emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries based on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of interests.
“We have achieved significant mutual understanding on key areas of cooperation thanks to similar views with the President of Tajikistan,” he noted, adding that key benchmarks for future interactions have been identified.
Additionally, the president reported on the successful holding of the first meeting of the intergovernmental council between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which will become an important tool for the timely implementation of joint tasks.
The necessity of joint efforts to combat transnational threats such as terrorism, religious extremism, drug trafficking, and organized crime was also discussed.
In this context, Japarov emphasized the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) for the establishment of an Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe and a Center for Combating International Organized Crime in Bishkek.
The president expressed hope that the Prime Minister of Tajikistan and the Chairman of the Government of Kyrgyzstan discussed all aspects of cooperation, recorded positive changes in relations, and gave them a new quality.
Kohir Rasulzoda, for his part, thanked the Kyrgyz side for the warm welcome and traditional hospitality. He conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
The Prime Minister noted that Tajikistan views the strengthening of good-neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan as an important element of its foreign policy.
“We respectfully observe the significant positive changes in your country, which demonstrate the creative energy of the Kyrgyz people under your leadership,” Rasulzoda said.
He also emphasized that Kyrgyzstan's economic indicators are at a high level compared to other countries in the region.
“As a result of the trusting dialogue between our presidents and the demonstrated political will, our relations have reached a new level. The signing of the state border agreement was an important step towards strengthening friendship and trust between our states,” he added.
Sadyr Japarov agreed with the expressed assessments and confirmed the course for further development of Kyrgyz-Tajik relations.
In conclusion, the president expressed confidence that the results of the Prime Minister's visit and the joint work of the governments will lead to further fruitful development of bilateral interaction for the benefit of both countries and peoples.
