Felix Kulov on the situation around Tashiev and early elections

In an interview with Semetey Amanbekov on the "Exclusive.kg" channel, the former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan assessed the circumstances surrounding possible resignations and presidential ambitions.

In recent days, the situation related to the possible resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, has been actively discussed. The reason for this has been statements about attempts to destabilize the political situation and an initiative to hold early elections, supported by a group of 75 people.

Felix Kulov, the former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and one of the most authoritative politicians in the country, shared his opinion on this issue in an interview with journalist Semetey Amanbekov on the YouTube channel "Exclusive.kg".

He noted that such initiatives rarely arise without reason and suggested that the discussion of early elections may be a consequence of internal political tension caused by the president's recent statements at the Kurultai about excesses by certain security forces.

According to Kulov, the topic of early elections could be used as a tool to exert pressure on certain influential groups. At the same time, he pointed out the lack of legal grounds for such a campaign, as current legislation clearly defines the time frames for regular elections.

When asked about Kamchybek Tashiev's possible presidential ambitions, Kulov emphasized that every citizen has the right to participate in elections; however, in the current political situation, where the incumbent president enjoys high support, significant resources and a clear political strategy will be required for successful participation in the elections.

Kulov also suggested that discussions about elections might distract attention from other internal processes and contradictions, as well as create tension among the elites. He warned that holding early elections could lead to risks of political instability, which in Kyrgyz practice has repeatedly resulted in crises.

During the interview, questions regarding the role of security structures, the responsibility of individual employees, and the logic of decision-making at the highest level were also discussed. Kulov noted that final conclusions could only be drawn after the investigative activities are completed.
