At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva expressed concern that relatives of patients are forced to transport blood to the Blood Center themselves, and then to private clinics for compatibility testing before transfusions. She emphasized that such practice is unacceptable, especially in cases requiring urgent intervention.

The deputy noted: “The doctor informs: ‘You need to pick up blood from the center, then go to a private clinic for compatibility testing. Only then can we perform the transfusion.’ This is truly dangerous, as precious time is wasted on these procedures in emergency situations, which can lead to tragic consequences. How has this become possible?”

According to Sadyrbaeva, under current regulations, relatives should not be involved in transporting blood — this is the prerogative of medical professionals. Hospitals should have designated specialists and appropriate transport for carrying out these tasks.

Additionally, the deputy highlighted issues related to bureaucracy during hospitalization. She pointed out the lack of clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) for admitting critically ill patients to intensive care, which leads to delays and waiting in queues.

Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva also raised the issue of accessibility to diagnostics and proposed making coronary angiography free in emergency cases. She also noted the existing shortage of necessary medical supplies.

“In our republic, barium, which is vital for performing diagnostic procedures, has been unavailable for over a year. This problem needs to be addressed urgently,” concluded the deputy, urging the government to take control of the mentioned issues.
