Turmush reported that on February 19, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, introduced the new mayor of the city of Osh — Janarbek Akayev.
Following the introduction of the new mayor, Zhenishbek Toktorbaev noted that the residents of Osh are wise and hospitable. “These people are loyal to friendship. By the order of the president, I served as mayor of the city of Osh for 1 year and 2 months. Together with my team, we made every effort to improve the city. We have no grounds for reproach; our conscience is clear. We have almost fully accomplished the tasks set before us. Currently, there are four bridges and three roads under construction. To Janarbek Kubanychovich [the new mayor], I want to say that we are colleagues and have worked together in the Jogorku Kenesh. I am ready to share my ideas and plans with him. I left of my own accord,” Toktorbaev added.
Toktorbaev also expressed gratitude to his colleagues and officially said goodbye to the team. “Dear colleagues, my deputies. I am deeply grateful to the people of Osh and all the residents. Wherever we were, the citizens always supported us. Janar is an educated and honest person. You will now work together, and I am confident that you will continue in the same spirit. The city remains yours. Sonunbek Kalmamotovich [Junusbaev — deputy mayor of Osh], you have done a lot for municipal territorial administrations and for planting seedlings. Flowers need to be planted in the Ken-Sai residential area, and there is also much work to be done in Ene-Sai. We worked together like brothers, and I tried to be an older brother to you. There were different moments in our joint work.
