At a meeting held on January 28, deputy Akylbek Tumonbaev reminded of the words of the Minister of Architecture, Construction, and Housing and Communal Services Nurdana Oruntaev, who stated that employees of his ministry receive a salary of 500,000 soms.
This statement sparked widespread public discussion, as many believe that such payments fall on the shoulders of construction firms and citizens who buy housing. Construction companies note that the ministry is introducing new taxes, which, in turn, leads to an increase in housing prices. Meanwhile, salaries for doctors and teachers are expected to rise only in April, while they currently receive only 30,000-50,000 soms, whereas such amounts seem normal in the Ministry of Construction," the deputy exclaimed and suggested first bringing this issue to the relevant committee for discussion, and then to the session of the Jogorku Kenesh.
Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu supported his speech, noting: "Akylbek Toguzbaevich is right. We are being approached by construction companies. The ministry itself set the tariffs and did not submit them for consideration by the deputies, resulting in the cost of square meters increasing. This issue needs to be discussed and brought into order."
The Speaker also mentioned that citizens express dissatisfaction regarding the situation when the service charge was removed in restaurants and cafes, but at the same time, the prices for dishes increased.
“This innovation has not improved the financial situation of citizens. Before implementing such reforms, it is necessary to conduct an analysis,” the speaker added.
He also noted that not only have prices in cafes and restaurants risen, but taxi services and haircuts have also become more expensive.“Citizens are extremely dissatisfied. The Cabinet of Ministers should be engaged in price regulation, but specific measures have not yet been taken,” Turgunbek uulu addressed the representative of the president and government in parliament, Almasbek Abytov. He added that the mentioned issues will be discussed in the Jogorku Kenesh in February.
