In Moscow, law enforcement officers detained 21-year-old Aina Mankieva, a native of Ingushetia, on suspicion of theft. The girl left her home in the spring of 2025, leaving behind her belongings and documents, after years of living under domestic violence. Human rights organizations express concerns that she may be returned to her family. This was reported by Forbes.
During the police interrogation, Aina filed a complaint against her relatives, stating that they had also subjected her to sexualized violence. Despite this, she was released without being handed over to Ingush law enforcement. Human rights defenders noted that she managed to leave the station and is currently in a relatively safe situation.
Aina is visually impaired and grew up in a large family with a low income. After one of the acts of violence, she fell seriously ill and did not leave her home for eight months, according to information from law enforcement. In April, before she escaped, she recorded a video message urging no one to look for her, as returning home could threaten her safety and health.
