A refutation of the accusations made by the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Ulukbek Karybek uulu, has been issued by the Bishkek city administration, which stated that his remarks regarding the situation with schools in "Ak-Jar" and "Ak-Bata" are not true and mislead the public.

The municipality emphasized that complete information about the action plan for 2024–2025 for the Sverdlovsk district, as well as project documentation, sources of funding, and timelines for implementing educational projects, was provided in response to the deputy's inquiry.

The city administration also reported that a school for 620 students has been built in "Ak-Bata," where 1,735 students are currently enrolled, organized into 48 classes. The educational process takes place in two shifts, and some students (260 from grades 5-6) temporarily occupy the old school building.

Regarding "Ak-Jar," the city administration noted that this residential area was formed as a result of land seizures, and there are currently no available plots for building a new school. City authorities are working on various solutions to this problem; however, constructing facilities outside of Bishkek contradicts the legislation.

Additionally, at a meeting between Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev and residents of "Ak-Bata" on January 23, the possibility of building a school in the Alamedun district was discussed, but the city administration pointed out the lack of authority to implement this proposal.

Earlier, at a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu drew attention to the serious shortage of schools in Bishkek, noting that about 15,000 people live in "Ak-Jar," and children are forced to study in other districts. He also mentioned that the school in "Ak-Bata," designed for 600 students, does not meet the needs of local residents.

Deputy Minister of Construction Samat Janteliev added at the same session that most city schools are overcrowded. In the Sverdlovsk district, with a designed capacity of 29,700 places, more than 66,700 children are studying, creating a need for the construction of an additional 15 schools.

The Bishkek city administration assured that the problem of school shortages is well-known and discussed; however, accusations of deliberate deception by city authorities were deemed unfounded.
