According to information provided by the parliament's press service, the participants of the meeting addressed current problems in the sports sector and the need to improve the legislative framework. Previously, athletes had reached out to the speaker, sharing their difficulties in this area.
Mamataliyev emphasized that in recent years, significant attention has been paid to legislation and the development of physical culture. He mentioned the construction of sports facilities being carried out with the support of President Sadyr Japarov.
The speaker noted that the existing laws in the field of sports are outdated and require a comprehensive review. "Collaborative work, exchange of opinions, and analysis of the current situation are critically important. No one is more aware of the existing problems than you," he added.
For the systematic development of the sports sector, he stated that it is important to clearly define the functions of agencies and federations, as well as budget allocations from the state. Transparency in the expenditure of funds is crucial.
Additionally, it was proposed to develop a new law concerning professional sports that would take into account the work experience of athletes, assist them in finding employment after their careers, and provide state support in case of accidents. It is also necessary to establish clear mechanisms for participation in national and international competitions.
Mamataliyev highlighted the need to align anti-doping regulations with international standards and to tighten accountability for athletes. He also underscored the importance of developing public-private partnerships, creating conditions for investment, and implementing strategic plans for 5 and 10 years.
At the meeting, coaches and athletes also presented their proposals, which will be taken into account in the development of new legislation.
