At a meeting with Yerlan Koshanov, the chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expressed readiness to develop joint production with Kazakh partners and supply necessary goods for the country, BelTA reported.
Lukashenko emphasized the importance of maintaining ties between Belarus and Kazakhstan, noting that no nation can fully develop in isolation. He highlighted that both countries share similar views on global development and called for the activation of interregional cooperation based on trust and shared experience.
Trade was named by Lukashenko as the foundation of bilateral relations; he noted that the trade turnover between the states has already reached one billion dollars, but there is potential for further growth.
“Our country has high technologies. We are ready not only to supply goods but also know what Kazakhstan needs. On a long-term basis, we are open to creating joint productions and cooperation with Kazakh partners,” the president noted.
Additionally, Lukashenko announced the intention to supply not only machinery products, including BelAZ trucks, but also agricultural equipment such as combines and grain harvesters, which would be well-suited for large-scale farming in Kazakhstan. He suggested demonstrating the capabilities of Belarusian machines in large fields and training staff.
The President of Belarus emphasized that the country produces more goods than the domestic market can consume and is ready to export the surplus, including machinery and agricultural products that are in demand in Kazakhstan.
Lukashenko recalled cooperation with Kazakh specialists since the times of the Soviet Union when he worked at agricultural enterprises. He expressed hope for the active involvement of parliamentarians, including Koshanov, in promoting bilateral economic interaction and stressed the importance of developing personnel and joint work.
“We are counting on you, especially after this visit. We are open to cooperation in all areas, and we have no barriers,” the president added.
