The governments of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom have expressed their readiness to use military force in response to Iran's "indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks" on their allies in the Middle East. This statement was published by the press service of the German government.
According to authorities, Iran's actions pose a threat to military personnel and civilians from these countries. They urgently called on Iran to immediately cease its shelling.
The statement reads: "We will take action to protect both our interests and those of our allies in the region. If necessary, we will ensure the adoption of adequate defensive measures to eliminate Iran's capabilities to launch missiles and drones from their bases." It is also noted that the countries have coordinated their actions with the U.S. and other partners.
At the same time, the United Kingdom has agreed to allow U.S. forces to use its military bases for attacks on Iranian missile installations, as confirmed by Labour Party leader Keir Starmer on March 1.
Starmer noted that Iran's actions are becoming increasingly risky and threaten the safety of British citizens, which led to the decision to cooperate with the U.S. at two military bases.
"The United Kingdom is taking measures in the interest of the collective defense of its regional allies who have requested support," London emphasized.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom added that there are about 200,000 British citizens living in Middle Eastern countries. He stated that the only way to eliminate the threat is the "destruction of missiles" at their storage sites, as well as launchers on Iranian territory, according to information from The Guardian.
There have been reports on social media that Iran is attacking a French military base in the United Arab Emirates, as well as attempts to attack British troops in Cyprus.
On February 28, a joint military operation by the U.S. and Israel against Iran began, to which Iran responded with strikes on Israel and American bases in the Persian Gulf countries.
