According to the announced data, compared to 2024, the export value has increased by 28.7%.
As part of the program to develop local industry, it is planned to invest ₮198 billion ($57.5 million) in expanding the capacities of cashmere processing enterprises.
By 2028, the authorities aim to achieve complete primary processing of cashmere in the domestic market and increase the level of deep processing to 40%.
The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia forecasts that revenues from cashmere exports could reach around $700 million.
There are about 50 processing enterprises in the country with a total processing capacity of 119,000 tons of combed cashmere.
