The opening of the updated maternity ward after major renovations took place at the Osh Interregional Combined Clinical Hospital, as reported by the Ministry of Health.

High-ranking officials attended the ceremonial event, including the First Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Aibek Matkerimov, the Presidential Envoy in the Osh Region Aman Kenjebayev, the Deputy Mayor of Osh Nurlan Zakirov, and the Chairman of the Osh City Council Bolot Bayetov, as well as the medical staff of the hospital.

The director of the institution, Atabek Jumaliev, noted that this ward was built in 1968 and had not undergone major renovations since then.

Aibek Matkerimov emphasized that within the framework of the national program "Healthy Person - Developed Country," the protection of women's and children's health remains a priority until 2030.

The major renovation, which took place from June 2025 to January 2026, affected various departments of the maternity ward, including the intensive care unit, delivery and reception departments, the pathology department for pregnant women, operating rooms, and the clinical laboratory. As a result of the modernization, a centralized oxygen station was installed, and engineering networks, roofing, and facades were updated, along with new operating rooms and patient wards being equipped.

Additionally, a waiting room for patients' relatives was created, and with the help of sponsorship funds amounting to 3.8 million soms, an elevator was installed.

The total amount allocated for the major renovation was 87 million soms from the budget.

Every year, 9-10 thousand women give birth in this ward, and about 20 thousand pregnant women receive necessary treatment.
