On the air of "Birinchi Radio," cardiac surgeon Nurlan Koshoybek uulu spoke about why cardiovascular diseases have become a cause of early mortality.

According to the doctor, these diseases rank among the leading causes of death both globally and in Kyrgyzstan. Coronary heart diseases, as well as strokes and heart attacks, are particularly dangerous.

Nurlan Koshoybek uulu noted that the main factor contributing to the development of these diseases is lifestyle. "Smoking, low physical activity, poor nutrition including fast food, stress, high blood pressure, and cholesterol levels—all of this leads to the premature development of cardiovascular diseases," he commented.

He also pointed out that most people do not notice the initial symptoms of the diseases and seek medical help only at later stages, when treatment becomes more complicated.

According to the cardiac surgeon, more and more patients aged 35-40 are coming to doctors with serious heart problems.

"Modern people lead a sedentary lifestyle. In the past, physical activity was higher, and cardiovascular diseases occurred at a more mature age," he added.

Koshoybek uulu also emphasized that poor nutrition, excess weight, and smoking play significant roles in the development of diseases. "Smoking is the primary risk factor, as confirmed by all medical studies. Young people rarely undergo preventive examinations and do not monitor their blood pressure and cholesterol levels. This can lead to the hidden development of diseases and unexpected heart attacks," he stressed.

The key cause of heart attacks, according to the cardiac surgeon, is high cholesterol levels in the blood.
