- At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 29, 2026, in the context of discussing the draft law on the ratification of loan and grant agreements related to the "Phase 1 for the Kyrgyz Republic under the One Health Program," deputies addressed important topics related to food security, veterinary medicine, and food quality.

Deputy Bolot Saginayev raised issues regarding food security, emphasizing the quality and safety of food products, as well as the prohibition of selling dangerous products near schools.

Deputy Zhyldyz Egenberdieva highlighted the need for equipping, constructing, and modernizing veterinary laboratories in the regions.

In turn, Deputy Makhabat Mavlyanova discussed issues related to the certification and inspection of organic products and clarified the list of hazardous chemicals and pesticides that are banned for use in Kyrgyzstan.

Deputy Kamila Talieva emphasized the importance of modernizing, constructing, and equipping veterinary laboratories in the regions, especially in the Leilek district of the Batken region. She also explained the conditions of the Loan and Grant Agreements, noting that the activities under these agreements are of a similar nature.

Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry Zhanibek Kerimaliev, who represented the draft law, noted that the "Phase 1" project consists of three key components: combating zoonotic infections, preventing antimicrobial resistance, and ensuring food safety. The total funding amount is $31.79 million (of which $30 million is a 50-year loan at 0% interest with a 10-year grace period, and $1.79 million is a grant).
