- The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan has announced that protocols for the export of 15 types of agricultural products to China are currently in effect. In the coming months, an increase in this list is expected through the signing of new agreements.

As of today, Kyrgyzstan has the capacity to export 17 different types of agricultural products. Products are exported to several countries: 462 enterprises supply the EAEU states, 37 to China, 53 to Uzbekistan, 12 to Turkey, and 68 companies to the United Kingdom. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, about 75% of the country's total exports consist of agricultural products.

Additionally, as a result of its work, the Ministry of Agriculture has received permission to export domestic honey to the European Union market.

The ministry emphasized that to increase the supply of leguminous crops, attention must be paid to improving product quality. “Currently, there are systemic problems in the industry related to impurity removal, sorting, and meeting export standards. In some countries, these processes are organized at the state level and are economically viable, while in Kyrgyzstan, this sector is still underdeveloped,” the ministry's data notes.

Moreover, the Ministry of Agriculture highlights a number of issues, such as the use of leguminous crops primarily as animal feed and for educational institutions, which reduces export potential. It is also important to consider transportation costs and ensure competitive prices for products when entering international markets.

In light of the above, the Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes the need for a comprehensive renewal of agriculture, which includes the development of crop production, the proper selection of varieties, increasing yields, cooperation among producers, entering exchange platforms, and detailed calculation of logistics costs.
