On the air of the radio station, the Deputy Director of the Center for Development and Promotion of Exports "Kyrgyzexport," Tilek Jumaliev, emphasized the importance of adhering to technical regulations for the export of textile and food products.

According to him, although the existing regulations were adopted and published a long time ago, not all manufacturers follow the established requirements.

“The technical regulations concerning food and textile products have been known for a long time, but compliance remains an issue. Since September of last year, we have started active work, conducting seminars and training sessions in collaboration with the Technical Regulation Department, CSM, and VCIS to clarify the necessary requirements for entrepreneurs,” Jumaliev noted.

He added that the focus is on labeling requirements and the presence of labels and tags, as well as the procedure for laboratory testing. This is especially important for products crossing the border, both in the textile and food industries.

Jumaliev urged manufacturers to work transparently by undergoing full certification and laboratory testing of their products.

Moreover, he reported that laboratories from neighboring countries and European Union states are being engaged to conduct analyses that are currently unavailable in Kyrgyzstan.

“For example, for beekeeping products, including honey, it is necessary to conduct analyses for 41 indicators, while our laboratories can only perform 5 tests due to a lack of reagents and infrastructure,” he stated.

In this regard, the Ministry of Economy plans to modernize laboratory infrastructure and expand capacities this year to provide a full range of certification services, including for the textile industry.
