Today, the Forest Service, which is under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, received 20 tractors from a total of 116 units of equipment transferred by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. This was reported by the director of the Forest Service, Muratala Tagaev, in an interview with the news agency "Kabar".
According to Tagaev, the new tractors will be used for various agricultural tasks within the framework of the Forest Service's work.
“With the special funds allocated from the republican budget, we are acquiring 20 tractors. One of their key advantages is that there will be no difficulties with spare parts for them. These machines do not require high-quality diesel fuel and can be used with various attachments, making them ideal for field conditions. Our material and technical base cannot be considered fully equipped, as a significant portion of the equipment in use was produced back in the Soviet era and is already outdated. At the moment, we are preparing documents to write off the unusable equipment, which has effectively turned into scrap metal,” he noted.
It should be added that in 2025, the service purchased 30 special off-road vehicles of the JAC T8 brand with its own funds, which were distributed across forest enterprises throughout the country.
“Our goal is to completely renew the material and technical base of the Forest Service. The 'Zhelmayans' have proven to be very convenient for work in greenhouses. Earlier, we also received 20 motorcycles and 20 units of 'Zhelmayans'. In total, we have about 280 units of equipment in the republic, of which almost 60 percent is outdated equipment left over from the Soviet era. Additionally, we are also engaged in the procurement of drones,” Tagaev added.
According to Tagaev, forests occupy 6.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan's territory, which is approximately 900 thousand hectares. Currently, about 2.5 million people are engaged in activities directly related to forests.
